i think you meant 1^2 + 2^2 + 4^2 + 8^2.... to infinity
so here goes
1^2 + 2^2(1) + (2.2)^2 + (2.2.2)^2........
so we take 2^2 common
1^2 + 2^2.(1 + 2^2 +2^3 +......)
we need to turn this into gp
1 + 4(1+ 2(2 + 2^2 + ….))
solving gp
1+4(1-4) =-11
